James and Nikhil like spending time on the internet. But they are too young to remember a time when the World Wide Web was a hobby, a luxury, a utopian ideal. And now, they’re spending so much time online they can’t remember very much at all.

Transfer Protocol is an attempt to connect with a fading past. Part durational performance, part memorial, it traces its way through the earliest communities online till present day- through the first forums, blogs, comment sections, flame wars, giving physical form to the ways we connect digitally. Created by Evangeline Cullingworth, James Nash and Nikhil Vyas.

About the Company

Nikhil Vyas, Evangeline Cullingworth and James Nash are theatre-makers who make work that is imaginative in its relationship to its audience, reveals itself in playful and unexpected ways, and examines digital and technological cultures, past and present. Transfer Protocol is their first collaboration.
