‘dɪˈʃɛv(e)ld’ – A short play:
After their first night together, composer Erik Satie proposed marriage to his muse, Suzanne Valadon. She declined. For 27 years nobody entered Erik Satie’s apartment. When they finally did, they discovered the floor littered with open umbrellas and two grand pianos stacked in a corner. ‘dɪˈʃɛv(e)ld’ is the torment of his descent into emptiness. Ice is held in his hand. Water drips to the floor.
Created and performed by Czech Republic theatremaker, Hana Strejčková. In this solo performance, Hana explores motherhood through puppetry and object theatre.
