Inspired by contemporary performance, the 70s, academic language, classic crooners, Rihanna and Beyoncé, musicals, Scouse female fashions, dereliction and shopping centres, The Sand Dog Cometh offers: Virtuosity? Intellectual stimulation? Distraction? Provocation? Catharsis?

Written, directed, and performed by Mary Pearson (USA/UK). Visual collaboration with Sophie Malmberg(DK/Berlin). It has been developed at Ponderosa Tanzland Festival and Con|VERGE residency (Germany) 2013, in residency with Jamie Wood at the Bike Shed Theatre (Exeter), and at Tmesis Theatre’s Physical Fest 2014 (Liverpool). Physical research has also taken place as artist in residence at the Making Space Residency, part of Decoda’s Summer Dancing Festival 2014 (Coventry).

About the artist
Mary Pearson is a multi-disciplinary performance artist based in Liverpool. Her first solo show FAILURE (& other opportunities for non-linear success) and her independent ‘FAILURE Lab’ performance workshops have been touring in the UK and internationally (US/Germany), including Sprint 2013 at CPT.
