Presented by Almost Human

Hell. In 1914 it was a futuristic cityscape. In 1922 it existed only in the mind. In 1933 it was Europe. In 1944 it was other people. In 1999 it was repeat after repeat of ‘Friends’. In 2002 it was coming to earth soon. Twelve years on, it’s a camera spinning into infinity. A nauseating grindhouse movie, a never-ending penance of mediocre puppetry and second-hand technology.

Almost Human presents a live film of Dante's ‘Inferno’. Using out-of-date technology and old toys, Dante Undone is a celebration of the lo-fi, analogue and hand-made, taking its audience on a cinematic roller coaster through the depths of hell.

Nominated for the Digital/Online Content production at the Theatre Critics of Wales Awards and the Prague Fringe Creative Award, Almost Human’s work intertwines the technical with the living, moving between digital and live space to create performance that exists somewhere between film, theatre and installation.

About the company

Almost Human are an international company based in the UK and the Netherlands. We aim to push the boundaries of technology and theatre, exploring the theatrical relationship between process and performance, giving equal footing to each as forms of theatrical expression.
