Dandelion Heart presented by PinchVanish tells the story of a travelling circus, in which the ringmaster, and most of the cast, seem to have disappeared, leaving behind a small host of strange performers. Benjamin Benjamin, magician extraordinaire, is hell bent on keeping everything ticking along smoothly, and, most importantly, putting on a show, but the lights are breaking, the lions have escaped and the tears in the curtain are only getting bigger. Meanwhile, his young assistant has just discovered that his heart glows a deep, fluorescent blue . . .
Dandelion Heart is a play in which characters find themselves hurled across the stage, because they genuinely believe it might be possible for them to fly. The piece is both absurd and darkly comic, while at its core it asks the fundamental question of what it is to be human, and why being human often means being possessed of a desire to run away.
