Presented by Italia Conti Ensemble
Two by Jim Cartwright
Italia Conti BA actors invite you to their local, a hub of calamity and heart in 80's Manchester. Relax, order a stiff one and encounter a host of wacky yet familiar Friday night characters. From the other woman to a failing Lothario to return surprise guests, this is a night like no other. Expect revelations, rama and plenty of laughs. This fresh, comedic romp promises a thrilling, messy time, minus the crippling hangover! Incorporating music, this unique production is not to be missed!
Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind
Italia Conti BA actors present Wedekind’s Spring Awakening – an arresting tale of sexuality, discovery and oppression. The most controversial coming-of-age story of all time sees the children of repressive 19th century Germany encounter adulthood with dangerous, fatal consequences. A talented troupe of young upstarts take you on a high-octane journey of innocence, sexuality and tragedy. Censored for 80 years and still controversial even today, this production will revive your senses and desires. A unique, ensemble production incorporating music. Not to be missed.
About the company
Every year the second year students on the BA Acting course at Italia Conti form a production company and take two pieces of exciting theatre up to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August. This also encompasses a week in July of touring around London and surrounding areas. This is the first chance that the year has to perform to the public since our training began and is vital preparation for us to become accustomed to performing in public before our final third year plays.
