I have some questions for you.
Do you think you’re sexy?
What do you find sexy?
What does sexy even mean?

As a young woman who loves poetry, smashing the patriarchy and a well-timed slut drop, these have been questions that have plagued Vanessa her whole life.

SEXY uses truthful wit and clever verse to explore our conflicted relationship with our bodies and sexiness, exploring our obsession with what is sexy through comedy, spoken word, dance and various states of undress.

Directed by Rob Watt, movement by Lucy Bairstow and produced by Liz Counsell. Developed with support from Arts Council England, Camden People’s Theatre and Bristol Old Vic Ferment

“Vanessa Kisuule is a remarkable talent. Her contribution to the Guilty Feminist was extraordinary. A piece of performance poetry that made us laugh, cry and long for our sisters in equal measure.” – Deborah Frances-White (Guilty Feminist Podcast)

“Exhilarating and moving and left tears of laughter in my eyes”Bristol24:7
