Presented by Vijay Patel
Pull The Trigger is a live art/cabaret display of Indian corner shop culture and servitude; following immigration and refuge. Mundane actions of stocktaking are fused with uncomfortable, repetitive cabaret numbers. An autobiographical solo performance unearthing frustrating structures of work life within the anarchy of capitalism. This is a show that deconstructs the aesthetics and semiotics of our ‘British’ corner shops and the role they play in the building of new lives for many Indians in the UK. The show asks us to look at corner shops and those who work in and around them and ask: what do we want/have to do for work?
Pull The Trigger has been developed and showcased at Artsadmin, Battersea Arts Centre, Duckie, and the University of Chichester.
