Presented by pink suits
pink suits are a Poli-Rock (aggressive/genderfuck/political rock) duo creating live performance crossing the genres of music, dance, theatre, and film. Political Child is their first full-length work exploring fantasy, sexuality and gender identity. It is their late-onset teen angst rebellion against binary gender expectations.
Political Child is pink suits debut album to be launched later this year; the show contains music from the album in a performance experiment that blurs the line between a live music gig and a dance theatre show. It is an exploration of the gendered body, how we are viewed as male and female, how we are the same, how we are different, physically, socially and emotionally.
pink suits current work is made with support from PanicLab Ltd, Camden People’s Theatre, Chisenhale Dance Space, Margate Arts Club, Tom Thumb Theatre Margate, Cliffs Cafe Margate and is funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
About the company
pink suits is a musical/dance performance collaboration between artists Ray Prendergast and Lennie. As a band, pink suits create aggressive political rock music as well as dance, physical theatre and film. Their work is an exploration of fantasy, mental health, politics and is a resistance of binary gender expectations.
