Presented by Tom Cassani & Peader Kirk

Colliding showmanship, deception and almost miracles.

We can all walk on broken glass as carefree as if it were sand beneath our feet. We can all put our hands straight into the fire and not leave a mark if we need to.

None of these things are impossible but it’s ok to admit that they are hard. That this time is hard.

Tom Cassani twists showman’s patter to preach the importance of remaining wary of those who make extraordinary claims. Lying is done with words and also silence. I promise you that tonight.

Tom’s obsession with magic and illusion has lead him to explore how and why we believe the things we do. Cassani exorcises his inner sceptic and believer, switching between the roles of the showman and the conman as he shares disturbing accounts of spontaneous human combustion and memories from a parallel life.

Whilst traversing a stage covered in broken glass and fragmented truths Cassani uses real blowtorches, incantory texts and sleight of hand to set fire to our fickle sense of truth.

I Promise You That Tonight is a solo theatre show written and performed by Tom Cassani with direction and dramaturgy from Peader Kirk, that smashes together impossible imagery and hallucinatory text.
