Part of our UK:RIP week

A work-in-progress, presented by Rachael Clerke.

Rachael feels uneasy about Scotland. She feels uneasy about Alex Salmond and Donald Trump. About golf, tartan and the forthcoming independence referendum. She feels particularly uneasy about the fact that she once performed the Braveheart freedom speech to Rangers fans outside Ibrox stadium.

Exploring identity, belonging and machismo, How to… Braveheart is a performance-lecture that delves into the personal-political debate of a country on the edge of a decision. Expect rousing speeches, bicycles dressed as horses, a woman dressed as Mel Gibson and your very own Scottish enlightenment.

Winner of the Ideastap Underbelly Award, currently in development for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Rachael Clerke last appeared at CPT in Sprint 2013 with Clerke and Joy's show Volcano.

Read Rachael's blog about creating the show here.

UK:RIP is a week of activity exploring the possible breakup of Britain in light of the Scottish independence referendum.
