Presented by Humanish
A humanette puppet comedy starring the Holy Trinity at home for Christmas!
Joy to the world, in heaven Jesus’ iphone 6S is ringing, the Holy Ghost is on the loo and God’s lost his glasses. Sweaty stilton, too much port and a turkey that’s drier than Joseph’s flip-flop; it’s just another family Christmas in the household of its holy originators.
An absurd and endearing portrait of Christmas, like The Royle Family meets Phoenix Nights, in miniature.
Humanish deliver the second coming of Holy Presents to CPT, with all of the dodgy sandals from the first time round plus more warm baileys, santa fantasies and puppet punch ups than you can throw a Christmas stick at.
“A giddy, irreverent seasonal comedy that marries the absurd with the familiar” ★★★★ The Stage
Commissioned by China Plate, Warwick Arts Centre and mac Birmingham. Supported by Blind Summit and Arts Council England.
Created and developed by Tara Boland in collaboration with Helena Rice, Fiona Clift, Philippa Hambly, Hannah Berry and Jonathan Young.
Fri 16 and Sat 17 Dec, Humanish Christmas carol(ish) sing a-long service
£16 / 14 inc. entry to the show and a free glass of mulled wine
Sing a-long with the Holy Trinity to their favourite Christmas classics, from Slade to away in a manger, Good King Wencelas to Mariah Carey
A good ol’ fashined Christmas knees up; warm alcohol, mince pies and belting out a magic medley of Christmas tunes, now that’s the Christams spirit.
Join the holy trinity for a ho ho ho-down of Christmas bangers!
“God’s Christmas dinner through puppetry…very funny”
“This was truly unique and really inspiring. Clever script, perfect characterisation, brilliant puppeteering”
“The feeling of family; a typical family Christmas. It was fantastic, exactly what a family Christmas is- arguments, happiness, storminess, but it just happened to be God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost. It was very funny.”
“I loved the music. Imagining God, the Holy Ghost and Jesus to modern pop music!. It worked really well, the archaic system they are with modern Wham!”
“Go see it! Really funny!… If they do exist they are just normal people!”
