Flowdan has been at the heart of the UK grime scene since its inception at the turn of the millennium – but his lyricism and vocal style make him a unique representative of a broader soundsystem culture. From his days as a teenage jungle fanatic, MCing in his own bedroom, to his performances with avant-garde bass warrior The Bug, he has always been one of the greatest storytellers, best vocal stylists, and most spellbinding presences in the music scene. Now, for the first time, he is going to perform his lyrics stripped from their soundsystem context – just Flowdan, a mic and a spotlight, in the intimate space of the Camden People’s Theatre. This is grime as its never, ever been seen before.
