“But the terror wasn’t about what I was being accused of, the terror was what I could get done for…”
Through a series of verbatim monologues, Prefer Not To Say recalls the gripping testimonies of real life people within the LGBTQ+ community. For the past year Riot Road has been touring the country investigating the horrors and the struggles that people still face daily because of their sexuality and/or gender identity. Their mission is simple, to give a voice to those who may otherwise never get the chance to be heard.
Prefer Not To Say takes you on a journey of empowerment and liberation connecting you to these everyday people and their inspiring tales. Tackling topics of abuse, homelessness and HIV to name a few, these powerful stories will give you an insight into what it truly means to be part of such a brave movement.
About the company
Riot Road is a verbatim theatre founded by Co-Artistic Directors and best friends Holly Parnell and Joshua Chapman. They built it with one mission in mind, to create a platform for real people to finally have their say and support under represented communities.
