Presented by The Dice Team

DICE Festival is an artist-led festival of chance, programming excellent live art and experimental performance from artists of all backgrounds and at every stage in their career. This year we will be showcasing 14 different artists across 2 nights, with a diverse programme of performance, including live art, performance art, cabaret, clowning and storytelling.

Before you come to see how the evening unfolds, here are the six rules you should know:

  1. On each night, there are six acts.
  2. When, and if, each act will perform, will be determined by the dice roll.
  3. Each dice roll will be performed by your evening’s host, the Dicemaster.
  4. The dice will be rolled six times.
  5. Each act risks performing six times, and not performing at all.
  6. We like the number six.

A night at DICE, is a night where you have no idea what you are about to see. And neither do we.

“Performances ranged from mysterious to comic, pumped-up to meditative, text-based to silent… Our night seemed to shape itself perfectly”- Exeunt on Dice Festival at Summerhall, Edinburgh Fringe 2018

The line-up:

Supported by Forest Fringe, and The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

About the company

DICE aims to create bridges between emerging and established artists, and expose groundbreaking work to a wider audience. This is why The DICE Team are presenting a platform that embraces the nature of chance and presents all artists on an equal playing field. DICE aims to question and displace choice within live performance, by placing the unexpected beside one another. It is making space for art to exist, art that doesn’t always fit into expectations.
