A work in progress performance, presented by Coney
Imagine you’re in a theatre of the future, powered by an algorithm. “We’re here to help you be more like people like you. And we know that people like you like choice”.
Following successful outings earlier this year supported by CPT, Coney returns for a week of development and to present further sketches from a project currently Codename : REMOTE. This is a new piece of playing theatre in development, with a sit-down audience exploring the human impact of the gigantic digital systems that govern our lives, our changing relationship with technology and the ideology of choice.
Coney is here represented by Tassos Stevens and others; collaborating with James Bridle, Gemma Brockis, Tom Lyall, Melanie Wilson and others.
Coney are interactive theatre-makers. They weave together theatre and game design to create dynamic shows and experiences that can take place anywhere that people gather: in theatres, schools, museums, on the streets and online. "[Their] contribution is to renegotiate the narrative contract and find a new way of uniting amateurs and professionals in a common pursuit. It trusts us to make things better for ourselves. And it’s a lot of fun" – Irving Wardle, Intelligent Life
