Presented by Cheap Thrills
Be my bosom buddy is an entertaining performance about the pervasive power of media and pop culture to infiltrate and distort female friendships. It exposes the rivalry, the jealousy, the tensions that arise from building unrealistic expectations of what relationships should be like – expressed through a medley of pop songs, lip syncing, amateur dancing and pillow fighting.
About the Company
We are a performance duo based in London, and working across theatre, live art and dance. Noemi Gunea + Grace Lambert = CHEAP THRILLS. Our work is centred around vulnerability and social pressure. We like to reflect on how different systems of power like the state, the media, the art world or technology influence the way we think and behave. Through amateur dancing and comedy, we play and examine how we can disrupt these patterns.
We don’t aim for polished. We aim to reveal something authentic, raw and wild within our work.
