Presented by Pony Cam
After a sold-out season around Australia, experimental theatre company Pony Cam are bringing their award-winning new work to the UK.
A Red Square is a South Park meets Greek Tragedy style animation made and experienced on Microsoft PowerPoint.
Smashing together nostalgic narratives, crappy cartoons, and cultural taboos, A Red Square tells the hilarious, tragic, and unexpected life story of… a red square.
A square that, under your command, will move, want, fail, dream, breathe and most importantly, die. For when this square realises it is part of a twisted, long-form PowerPoint presentation, it might just fight back.
Designed during the world’s deepest lockdown, A Red Square is an electrifying solo experience made for the present moment.
“You will be affected, you will be confronted, you will be challenged”– What Did She Think
“A vivid, action-filled and bizarre universe…” – Witness Performance
“Will leave you thinking about it for hours on end” – Theatre Travels
Audiences must have Microsoft PowerPoint to experience this show. Upon booking, audiences will be sent a Google Form that must be completed.
A Red Square will be available on-demand for one week from 7.30pm 1st June. A link with further instructions will be sent to your email address upon booking your ticket.
This project has been made possible with the generous support of Auspicious Arts Projects Inc.

About the company
Pony Cam is an experimental performance collective based in Melbourne, Australia.
Together they have trained in the performance tradition of the Bouffon, a grotesque style of clowning that combines provocative humour with political bite. As such, their shows are as charming as they are uncomfortable – always grounded in a live, reactive relationship with their audience.
Having made performances in car parks, office buildings, botanic gardens, and old classrooms, A Red Square marks their very first foray into the Microsoft Office Suite.
