CPT celebrates its twentieth birthday – in style
Yup, we’re twenty, and we’re not letting the anniversary pass without a knees-up.
We’ve got a year-long strand of theatre activity planned to mark two decades since CPT was founded by a group of visionary theatre-makers, way, way back in 1994.
This [email protected] strand is launched as part of our Sprint 2014 festival with two events. On Saturday 8 March, we’re hosting a Party Like It’s 1994 – a birthday party for CPT and a nineties-themed night out, featuring the songs, sounds and styles of 20 years ago. Entertainment to be supplied by some of CPT’s favourite artists…
Then on Wednesday 26 March, we’re launching our Passing the baton series, for which ten great CPT artists from the last twenty years select ten new-to-CPT, early-career artists to bring work to our theatre. These ten commission will be staged throughout the year, beginning during Sprint with How to Drown a Fish by Grace Gibson, and No Milk for the Foxes by Beats + Elements. Both performances will be introduced by the selecting artists.
Watch this space for more Passing the baton events, and more news about our [email protected] activity.
