Barrel Organ present a workshop at the Fitzrovia Centre on the creation and control of a story.
Monday 30th November
Free to participants
SOME PEOPLE TALK ABOUT VIOLENCE explores – among other things – unemployment, depression, political apathy and systematic and institutionalised forms of violence in modern society. Barrel Organ invites participants to interrogate some of these issues through a process that will encompass the creation of a story, of narrative, and the means by which we control this narrative.
Excerpts of the material generated, and documentation of the workshop will be displayed as part of the Barrel Organ Takeover Weekend at CPT on the 5th and 6th December to which all participants will be invited.
In order to express your interest in attending this workshop please email [email protected] with ‘Creation & Control Workshop’ in the subject line
Barrel Organ is a UK-based touring company formed in the West Midlands. We have all directed, produced and performed, but have never enjoyed working within the traditional hierarchies of theatre, which is why we decided to form a company which would work collaboratively and collectively to create politically engaged and formally experimental theatre. Barrel Organ are Associate Artists of Camden People’s Theatre.
