Camden People’s Theatre (CPT) is thrilled to announce the appointment of a new Executive Director, Kaya Stanley-Money, who comes to CPT from her role as Producer at independent theatre studio China Plate.
Kaya will take over the post of Executive Director and joint CEO at CPT, joining Artistic Director Brian Logan. Kaya will replace outgoing Executive Director Amber Massie-Blomfield, who is going freelance to work as an arts producer and consultant for clients including Pro Helvetia, and to develop her non-fiction writing.
Kaya is a theatre and dance producer who has been making and touring contemporary work UK-wide and internationally for the last six years. As Producer for China Plate, she has developed work with artists/companies including Caroline Horton, Inspector Sands, Ben Wright and Chris Thorpe. Prior to China Plate, Kaya was Production Coordinator for Little Angel Theatre, touring pieces such as A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings (Kneehigh) and We’re Going on a Bear Hunt (Peter Glanville & Barb Jungr) to children and families throughout the UK. Kaya also runs her own independent producing company, Platform 10, that champions new writing, and was an Old Vic New Voices Festival Producer.
Kaya Stanley-Money said: “I am thrilled to be joining Brian and the team at this exciting point in the company’s development. Having worked with CPT on some brilliant projects in recent years, I know first-hand the extraordinary relationship CPT builds with the artists it works with and the local community it serves. It’s a privilege to have the chance to be part of the team driving the company’s unique vision forward.”
CPT’s Artistic Director Brian Logan said: “I’m really excited that Kaya is joining us at CPT. I’ve seen what amazing work she’s done with China Plate, who make some of the most extraordinary theatre in the UK. I know how committed she is to supporting a wide range of artists to make great performance, and to building on CPT’s role as an active and engaged theatre for Camden, London and beyond. And it’s very clear she has the skills, the dynamism and the good humour to do it. I’m really looking forward to working with her.”
Kate McGrath, chair of CPT board: “We’re delighted that Kaya will be joining CPT as Executive Director, and leading the organisation alongside Artistic Director Brian Logan. Her experience, energy and enthusiasm for CPT’s work made her a stand out candidate in a strong field, and we very much look forward to working with her through the next chapter of CPT’s story.”
