The Absolute Truth About Absolutely Everything is a show is about a crisis of masculinity, performed by a different female performer each night
The show was created by Olly Hawes with the collaboration over twenty other brilliant makers, it was developed at Arcola and Camden People’s Theatre last year, and is premiering at the Calm Down, Dear festivals at Camden People’s Theatre in London and the Bikeshed in Exeter.
Olly and the team are looking looking for guest performers for the shows at CPT on 22nd Sept and 6-8th October and Bikeshed 11+12th October.
Performers will read lines, follow stage directions and do a little bit of improvisation – so we’re looking for female performers with excellent sight reading skills, who are happy to play and will courageously embrace the unpredictableness of live performance.
The play explores the ethics and politics of a female performer speaking words written by a male writer, and contains some explicit content that some people may find uncomfortable. Each performer will receive a full briefing with Olly before the show, and a debrief after, and performers are free to decide not to read or perform any section of the script. There will be an opportunity for a further discussion of this before you commit to performing in the show
This is a paid opportunity, and a chance to be part of a live performance, the Calm Down, Dear festivals – and the conversations each create – in a unique way. If you’re interested, or know people who might be, you can find more information here, and get in touch with Ellie, the show’s producer on [email protected]
