SPRINT

Since its inception in 1997 as a showcase for 'physical, visual and unusual theatre', Sprint has continued to grow in scope and reputation. It now runs for four weeks throughout June, and boasts an unrivalled mix of work from the UK's brightest emerging companies. Shows usually run for two to three performances as part of a four week Festival. To see this years programme click here (1MB PDF).

Applications are now being accepted for Sprint 2008. We are happy to accept proposals from emerging or established companies and individuals working in experimental theatre and in live-art. Initially please send a proposal of no more than one side of A4 paper, along with a company/artist CV and any additional supporting material (reviews, photos, DVDs etc). We are happy to consider both existing and imagined works and there are no restrictions on length. Please note that this is a festival of physical, visual and unusual theatre, and whilst the written word is not excluded we do not encourage written 'plays', and prioritize work that had been made collaboratively. Proposals should be sent to Sprint Festival, Camden People's Theatre, 58-60 Hampstead Road, London NW1 2PY or emailed to admin@cptheatre.co.uk with the subject Sprint application. The closing date for applications is January 31st 2008.

Companies who found early success at Sprint have included Leikin Loppu, Tell Tale Hearts, Unlimited Theatre, Cartoon de Salvo, Metro-Boulot-Dodo, Fevered Sleep, Shunt, Wishbone, The Special Guests, Demonstrate and Unpacked; while workshop leaders have included David Glass, Annabel Arden, Marcello Magni, John Wright, Ken Campbell, Polly Teale, Cal McCrystal and Jonathan Kay.
