There are three spaces for hire at CPT. We have a studio theatre for hire with a licensed capacity of 60, the basement space for rehearsals, workshops, classes, meetings or informal showings, and the foyer Gallery space for the exhibition of art work.

All spaces are wheelchair accessible. The foyer and theatre are on the ground floor and there are no steps. The basement is easily accessible via a passenger lift.

Theatre

A ‘black-box’ studio theatre, set on the ground floor, providing a flexible performance space. It can be used end-on, in traverse, or in the round. It is also possible to remove all seating and fixed rostra to provide a performance arena for promenade or ‘immersive’ style theatre.

Seating is comprised of seating in rows on a rake or can be arranged in other formations to suit the needs of the performance or event.

The theatre is fully air-conditioned and the air-conditioning can be controlled fully by the company or hirer. In the winter, heating is provided via gas central heating to locally controlled radiators. Alternative heating can be provided via portable electric heaters.

The dressing room is communal and measures 5.50 metres x 3.50 metres (approx) and is suitable for up to around 10 people. There are washing facilities, but no showers on-site.

Foyer

The foyer is on the ground floor with its main entrance on Hampstead Road. The foyer is lit via large windows facing to the street and via domestic style hanging lights. Heating is provided via locally controlled gas centrally heated radiators. The walls and ceiling are painted white.

The foyer is furnished with portable chairs and tables. There is a small, informal bar area.

The foyer area is suitable for exhibitions of paintings, drawings, photographs etc. Exhibition of three-dimensional art-work is possible under certain conditions, so please contact us if you wish discuss this.

Basement

The basement is accessible via stairs or passenger lift. Lighting is provided by tungsten spotlights, wall lights and (if required) fluorescent tubes. There is a built-in bar counter.

The room is suitable for meetings, rehearsals, workshops or informal showings.

Heating is provided via portable electrical heaters. Cooling is provided by electrical fans. Tea & Coffee facilities and other equipment can be provided on request.
